Admissions Process
Step 1: Submit an Application
Navigate to the Application Page to fill out and submit an application of enrollment as well as the application fee. Only an authorized guardian of the student may apply for admission to Covenant Christian Academy. An authorized guardian is defined as a person who meets the current IRS criteria to claim the applicant as a dependent on their current federal tax return. Proof of the parent/guardian's compliance with this requirement may be requested by CCA at any time. This requirement must be met as a condition of continued enrollment and serves as the basis for qualification for multiple child discounts and financial aid. Please see Tuition & Fees for additional information.
*At least one of the two parents must have a saving faith in Jesus Christ and attend a local church on a regular basis. However, it is preferred that both parents profess their faith in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior (John 3:3,1; 1 Peter 1:23).
Step 2: Meet the Principal & Placement Testing
Parents will meet with the principal and receive an application packet as students complete a preliminary exam to determine academic skill level. CCA provides readiness testing for kindergarten and placement confirmation testing for other grades with a testing fee. This fee is due at the time of the testing and is non-refundable (unless the student is not accepted). The principal will also conduct a family interview during this appointment. Parents should bring copies of report cards, achievement test results, etc.
*If the applicant is unable to keep a scheduled appointment time or is running late, please contact the school immediately so alternate arrangements can be made. Applicants that do not arrive for their scheduled appointment, will be marked as a "No-Show" and may be refused future appointments.
Step 3: Review
The principal will then review the application, documents, and the student's testing results. Parents will be notified of the decision to accept or decline admission.
*All applicants who are accepted are done so on a six-week trial basis.
Step 4: Registration
Registration begins after the student is granted admission. CCA will request academic and health records from previous schools. Transportation arrangements for busing will be and a permanent student file will created. A registration fee is charged to reserve a student's place in class and establish student files.
*For new students, the registration fee is due when parents receive notification of acceptance. Returning students should include the registration fee with their re-enrollment form. This fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
Parents of kindergarten students must provide a copy of the birth certificate and an up-to-date immunization record or state exemption waiver. A child must be five years old by October 1st to be eligible for kindergarten in September.
All students admitted to the school will be expected to perform at or above grade level, attend school regularly, and uphold school policy and regulations.
